Worksheet Overview

We know that everyday objects around us are made out of different materials.

And we know that each material has properties.

We consider the material's properties when choosing what material to use for different objects.

Now let's consider what will happen to different objects knowing their properties.

Here is a picture of some balloons.

The balloons are made of rubber.  We know that the properties of rubber are that it is stretchy and flexible.

What would happen if we sat on a balloon that had been blown up with air?

That's right, it would pop!

Rubber is also breakable when put under a lot of pressure, like someone sitting on a balloon!

Let's practise thinking about the properties of different materials and what might happen to them.
