Everything in the world around us is made out of something - we call what they are made out of 'materials'.

 

Have a look around you where you are sitting.

 

Can you see any of the following?

 

A computer - this is made out of a combination of things including plastic and metal.

A cup - this could be made out of ceramics, plastic, glass or even paper.
