Identify and Compare Materials

Everything in the world around us is made out of something - we call what they are made out of 'materials'.

Have a look around you where you are sitting.

Can you see any of the following?

A computer - this is made out of a combination of things including plastic and metal.

A cup - this could be made out of ceramics, plastic, glass or even paper.

A pen - this is usually made out of plastic.

A pencil - the outer layer of a pencil is made out of wood.

In this activity, there are going to be several different objects to look at.

All you have to do is decide what their properties are and what they are made from.
