Worksheet Overview

It is really important that the food we eat is the best food for our bodies.

We need to make sure that we balance the sweet sugary treats that we all like eating with the healthy foods our bodies need.

Here is a picture of the eat well plate.  It shows clearly how we can try and balance all the different food that we eat.

eat well plate

We can clearly see that we should be eating lots of fruits and vegetables (green section) along with breads, rice and pasta (yellow section).

We need some protein foods (pink section) along with some milk and dairy foods (blue section)

The sweet sugary foods we like to eat are the smallest section (purple) - we should try to keep these foods as an occasional treat.

In this activity, we will look at healthy food choices.
