A healthy packed lunch is one that fuels your body and mind.

It needs to have a selection of different foods in it to make sure it's healthy and balanced.

 

Fruit and vegetables - they come in all different shapes and sizes.  Eating fruit and vegetables gives you lots of vitamins and minerals to keep you strong and healthy.

Whole grains  - these are things like whole grain bread, brown rice and whole wheat pasta.  Whole grains give you the energy to run, jump and play all day long.

Protein - this helps your muscles to grow big and strong. You can find protein in foods like chicken, turkey, cheese, eggs and beans.

Dairy or dairy alternatives - these give you calcium to make your bones and teeth strong.  Foods like yogurt, cheese or milk. Alternatives are soya milk and almond milk.

Healthy fats - these help your brain to work and your body to grow. You can find healthy fats in foods like avocado, nuts and seeds.
