Materials are everywhere. They are the things that items are made of!
They can be classified as either natural or man-made.
Natural materials are those that come from nature and man-made are those that are produced in a factory.
All items, whether natural or man-made have properties - these are the things that are individual to that item.
When materials are exposed to different situations, they react in different ways.
Wood is a natural material as it comes from trees. Its properties are that it is hard, strong and not bendy.
When wood is heated it will burn.
Plastic is a man-made material as it is not found in nature and is produced in a factory. Its properties are that it is strong, flexible and waterproof.
When plastic is heated it will melt.
In this activity, there will be some mystery materials.
All you have to do is to decide what material they are and what will happen to them in different circumstances.
