Practise Identifying Materials from their Properties

We use materials all the time in our everyday lives.

Each material has properties - things the material can do.

Some materials have similar properties but very rarely do materials have exactly the same properties.

Let's take a bag - it needs to be able to hold items.

You can get a a fabric bag, a leather bag, a plastic bag and even a paper bag for sweets!

All these bags have the same property in that they are strong enough to carry items.

But not all of them are waterproof, not all of them are un-breakable, not all of them are long-lasting and not all of them are re-useable..

In this activity, there are going to be several groups of properties to look at.

All you have to do is decide what materials they could belong to using the list provided.
