Pearson Edexcel GCSE 19th Century Novel Revision

The Pearson Edexcel English Literature GCSE has two separate papers, each of which is worth 50% overall. Both exams are closed-book which means that students will not be allowed copies of the set texts to refer to and they will need to learn key quotations beforehand. Paper 1 assesses students' knowledge of a Shakespeare play and a post-1914 play or novel. It has a time-limit of one hour and 45 minutes. Paper 2 focuses on 19th century literature and poetry since 1789 (in the Edexcel GCSE Poetry Anthology), and students get two hours and 15 minutes to complete it.

EdPlace’s GCSE exam-style questions and practice papers help your child hone their exam-technique and prepare them for anything the exam may throw at them.
